1. Purpose
This policy outlines the approach that we will take to ensure continuity of education through remote learning when pupils are unable to attend school in person due to exceptional circumstances.
Egham Park School endeavours to provide positive experiences and offer stability, safety, and individual care and attention, for all our pupils.
With this in mind, we aim to:
• Encourage pupils to reach their potential and to make good progress.
• Ensure that pupils experience high quality teaching and a curriculum which meets their needs and those outlined in their EHCP.
• Plan support for looked after and previously looked after children realistically and using the school’s resources efficiently in order to ensure the school meets their needs.
• Promote a positive culture in all aspects of school life.

3. Scope
This policy applies to:
Pupils unable to attend school due to illness, medical recovery, or other exceptional circumstances.
Whole-school or partial closures due to public health concerns, adverse weather, or other emergencies.
Staff responsible for delivering remote education.
Parents/carers supporting pupils at home.
4. Delivery Models
Remote education may include:
Printed materials for pupils with limited digital access.
Google Classroom.
5. Expectations for Staff
Plan and deliver remote education.
Monitor engagement and progress.
Provide timely feedback and support.
Tailored remote education plans will be developed in consultation with the Headteacher.
Additional resources and differentiated materials will be provided.
Regular check-ins will be arranged to support wellbeing and learning at suitable times in the day for pupils and their families.
6. Snow Days
In the event of school closure due to snow or other adverse weather:
Remote education will be activated where feasible, ensuring minimal disruption to learning.
Pupils will be expected to engage with learning at home which has been prepared by school.
Parents/carers will be notified promptly via the school’s communication channels.
7. Monitoring and Evaluation
Engagement and attendance will be monitored.
Feedback from pupils, parents, and staff will inform improvements.
The policy will be reviewed annually or in response to significant changes in guidance.
8. Communication
